We read that the Mohawk Seafood Tavern's tagline was 'where the locals eat', so we thought we'd give it a go and try some proper Louisiana soul food.
It didn't look much from the outside...
... and it didn't really get any better when you went inside...
With no windows, no music and dark wood veneer on nearly every surface, it was a bit of an odd place, but it was busy with a constant flow of locals coming in for some seafood.
We shared a plate of catfish and shrimp with a side of gumbo!
It was all nice but the gumbo was delicious - considering it was the same colour as the fake panelling on the walls we weren't expecting too much, but it was really tasty!

It certainly made a change from all the fast-food chains that surround all the motels we're staying in. It was a genuine Louisina dining experience, and we loved it!
