We had a busy old afternoon in Nashville...
We went straight to Hatch Show Print, which we missed last time. Hatch Show is a famous letterpress printing house who did (and still does) posters for loads of music legends when they came through town. The walls are covered in beautiful prints that are available to buy.
I was really looking forward to seeing all the printing equipment this time, but unfortunately the workshop had been stripped bare! Hatch Show were moving from their original location to a new space in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Their new space wasn't open to the public yet, so we'd missed out of seeing the printing in action again... but it was still great to see all the prints (and buy a couple).
A couple of doors down from Hatch Show was The Stage, which had some live music booming out, so we stopped in for some afternoon drinks and live country music...
Then, a couple of doors down from The Stage is Jack's BBQ! So we stopped by there for a little plate of ribs, pulled pork and ribs...
We did a bit of mooching around Broadway for the rest of the afternoon...
There was a lot of activity happening on Broadway as film crews were setting for a John Rich (we'd never heard of him but there were some very excited people talking about him) music video that was being filmed. We saw a coach full of girls all dressed in party clothes piling into on of the bars and camera rigs being set up outside... we were told we could be extras if we wanted, but we would have had to queue for hours so we thought we'd give it a miss.
On the way back to the car we passed the Ole Opry where people were trying to sell tickets for the nights sold out concert... I asked who was playing and it was Jack Johnson! What a coincidence... if the tickets weren't being sold for $125 EACH we might have gone.
