It seems like America's falling apart at the moment, if it isn't the Government Shutdown, it's the weather! There are tornados rolling across the country, snow storms heading in on Colorado and hurricane watches down on the south coast near Florida and Alabama and tropical storm watches around New Orleans...
So, rather than risk getting caught up in a tropical storm, we decided to change our route a bit. Instead of of driving down to New Orleans, we stayed in Alabama an extra night (in the very nice La Quinta hotel/motel) and then drive through Mississippi to a different part of Louisiana and then head on over to Texas... driving round all the areas expecting to be soaked with the storms.
All the drama just adds to the adventure!
