Last night we used our Optimum Rewards card to get some free cinema tickets to see Dinner for Schmucks, unfortunately we felt a bit like schmucks for going to see it - it was pretty rubbish.
The thing is, it had a great cast - Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd are usually very funny, David Walliams is in it, so's one of the blokes from Flight of The Conchords and Zack from The Hangover, and it was directed by the person who did Meet The Parents - so it had the potential to be brilliant... but it was a wee bit of a disappointment really.
I don't think we were really in the mood for a silly film that night - so that didn't help, and I think the audience made matters worse too - they seemed to be laughing hysterically at some very unfunny bits. But everyone was laughing and enjoying it, so maybe we were missing something...?
Anyway, I won't grumble on. It was still nice to be out of work and the tickets were for free, so that's great and the cinema had the most delicious popcorn (also at a discount price because of our card!), so all was not lost.
