Yesterday after some tasty brunch in Brooklyn, at a place called Beast - we went into Manhattan to have a mooch around Greenwich Village.
A few weeks ago we went to try and find a place called Sweet Revenge in Brooklyn, only to find it had closed. So Abi had been doing some investigating and found there was another Sweet Revenge just off Bedford Street in the village - just round the corner from the Friends building.
So we went along for an Easter treat...
Sweet Revenge are famous for their cupcakes - but more importantly their cupcake and booze pairings! Each day they have a selection of different flavoured cakes, some sweet, some savoury and then they have a pairing of either wine or beer that compliments the cake.
Yesterday day they some delicious looking cakes, apple and cinnamon, croque monsieur, curry, red velvet, spiced carrot, double chocolate... all sorts... and some very tasty looking quiches too.
I went for a chocolate one that was paired with some very sweet pear cider - and Abi had a red velvetty raspberry cake that was paired with a pink bellini...
They were very tasty, but I had to had a little help with mine. Luckily there was a big cupcake fan sitting next to me to finish it off!
It was a lovely little place, and it wasn't too busy - it was the perfect Easter afternoon tea treat before tucking into our Easter eggs!
