Philadelphia Bound...

On Saturday we took the Bolt Bus to Philadelphia for a little weekend adventure...

We had a couple of places that we wanted to go while we were there, but it was nice to have a bit of a mooch about too.

I noticed, this time more than last time, the difference in architecture (and apparent wealth) between the different streets. We walked down one street, and it felt just like any other high street anywhere, it looked all run down and the architecture was very 60's and concretey and there were quite a few... undesirables, around. Then, just two streets down, on a road than run parallel to the grotty road, were beautiful old buildings like this...

It was such a contrast, and really interesting to see the difference.

We had had a tip to go to a place called Reading Terminal Market to try a DiNic's sandwich... so we did...
It's an amazing place, a huge indoor market with loads and loads of different food stalls selling all sorts of food, from pizza and cheesesteak to noodles and chocolates and sweets...
The place was sooo busy and there were queues wrapping round lots of the more famous food stalls, including DiNics.

DiNic's serve HUGE sandwiches filled with the most delicious roast pork and beef brisket, all cooked and then carved (by hand) in front of you...
They must have go through SO much meat each day, there was a constant queue and there were people sitting on every stool around the counters, enjoying the delicious and humongous sandwiches.

We took our sandwiches outside and scoffed them in the sun... they were absolutely amazing!
