We had another adventure this weekend - this time we headed off to Boston!
We got the bus on Friday morning and arrived in sunny Boston mid afternoon, just in time for some delicious lunch - Lobster Rolls at Quincy Market!
We were staying at a great little hotel just a few minutes walk away from the bus station and from Faneuil Hall, called Club Quarters - it was in the perfect location for walking around the town.
After a bit of mooching around the shops around Quincy Market we decided to go and have a snoop around Harvard! The main University campus is across the river in an area of Boston called Cambridge (but of a coincidence!) - Cambridge is an incredibly nice and rather posh little town, full of old shops and restaurants and wooden slatted houses...
The grounds of the University were very grand, it felt just like walking into the films, with the grassy lawns infront of the small school buildings, students having garden parties out on the lawn, wearing sports jackets and chinos, other students walking around in their Harvard sportswear and Uni jumpers...
The 'Faculty Club' was on the grounds and looked like the fanciest country club/fancy pub - it was ridiculously posh. It was amazing to think that it was an actual University, I can't imagine what it must be like to go there for 3 years... or how much it must cost!
I always thought I'd go to Harvard University - and this weekend I did!
It was such a lovely evening, the perfect weather to be strolling around, and the train ride back into the center of Boston was great, going over the river and seeing all the boats...
We went back to the hotel for a little rest before heading back out to Quincy Market for a some delicious food at Wagamama's. I still think it's crazy that the only place in America you can get Wagamama's is in Boston - there's not a single restaurant in New York, but there are TWO in Boston (and now apparently they're opening one in DC... when will it be NY's turn? When?!).
It was so nice to walk around Quincy Market at night, with all the fairy lights in the trees twinkling away... it was nice and quite too, considering it was a Friday night.
It was such a lovely afternoon in sunny Boston - and we had a big adventure coming the next day too...
This has brought back lots of happy memories of our trip to Boston and you've taken some great photographs.
