Yesterday, despite the muggy humidity - I took myself for a walk from our apartment, across the Williamsburg Bridge and across Houston Street...
The Williamsburg Bridge is certainly the 'edgiest' of the three bridges. The Brooklyn Bridge seems to be protected from any vandalism - there was a graffiti incident a couple of weeks ago, when someone tagged the side of the bridge. Within a couple of hours there was no trace of it, it had been scrubbed off.
The Manhattan Bridge is a little dirtier, with some patches of big graffiti, but one the whole it's pretty nice. Then there's the Williamsburg Bridge, which has graffiti every 5 steps from end to end... but I suppose that's all part of it's charm...

There's a great bit in the middle where you can stand on a little overpass and watch the subway trains going backwards and forwards, and feel the bridge shaking!
There's also a great little sign hanging above the road, as you cross over into Manhattan...
It was a nice stroll - I was a wee bit sweaty by the end of it, but the sun came out once I was in Manhattan and it turned into a really nice afternoon... before the storms came!!!
