Super Bowl Sunday III...

Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday!

The New York Giants played the New England Patriots in a rematch of 2008's Superbowl...
THE GIANTS WON!!!!

Everyone from work was invited along to Tet's house for a Super Bowl Party in Queens. It was held in his 'Man Cave' in the basement, with his 100 inch projector and surround sound, comfy chairs, coolers full of beer and tables full of food - it was brilliant...

Pretty much everyone from work went, and there were the same number of people again who were all Tet and his wife's friends - who were all really lovely and friendly.

We arrived just after kick-off, but the Giants had already scored, so it seemed like it was going to be an exciting game. By the time half time came around I think the Patriots had over taken, just...

This year's half time entertainment (on the telly) was Madonna, but the half time entertainment at Tet's was a big game of Flip Cup...

Flip Cup is an American drinking game, where you have to down some beer (not a whole cup, thankfully!) then put your cup upside down on the edge of the table and flip it up to be the right way round. Then the next person on your team goes... all the way down the table until one team finishes, and wins (which was usually the girls team!).

By the time half time was over we were ready for some more pulled pork sandwiches and pigs in blanket, but Tet brought out a pig of another kind...

A whole roast pig(let)!!!

It had been cooking for 4 hours, after brining it all day, and it was absolutely delicious! I'd never seen a whole pig roast like that up close, I'd definitely not grabbed and knife and carved some off for myself before! Everyone dug in and literally within about 10 minutes, it looked like this...

It was so tasty and every bit was edible, Abi had a little nibble of an ear and I ate half the snout! It was definitely the highlight of the night.

Well, I suppose the highlight of the night should have been the Giants winning, but I missed the majority of the second half as I was eating roast hog. It was a good game though, and the last few seconds were VERY exciting as the New England Patriots came very very close to getting a touch down in the VERY last second, but they didn't catch it.

So it was a great night and a great result, and tomorrow morning there's going to be a ticker tape parade in Lower Manhattan to celebrate our new champions!
