Yesterday, after work, was one of those nights - when I can't quite believe we're really here in New York seeing all the things we're seeing.
As we waited for the G Train at Lorimer Street there was the most amazing music being played by a new busking trio. They were playing amazing New Yorky jazz, with a guitar, an upright bass and a treble saxophone (I'm guessing that's what it was anyway).
As soon as they started playing I couldn't stop smiling, and they were smiling too - it was infectious. I looked around and could see everyone else nodding their heads or tapping their feet in time.
Every now and then there's someone busking who manages to captivate everyone in the station and manages to squeeze at least one round of applause out of a station full of grumpy commuting strangers. Last night these three musicians managed to lighten the Tuesday gloom and get a clap from most people.

I have a sneeky feeling that Lorimer Street has the best buskers in Brooklyn. These passed few months have been great for evening music, it makes the journey back from work so so so much more enjoyable.
Good old New York.
