There's still a lot of snow and a lot of ice around - together they've made a very interesting (at at times dangerous) mix. There are some areas, like this school garden in Brooklyn, that have an expanse of clean, untouched snow that now has a half inch sheet of ice over the top.
So now, all the snow has turned into a massive frozen creme brulé - and just like a creme brulé, cracking the crispy top layer is VERY satisfying. As we walked to the train last night we were kicking deep holes in all the mounds of snow that are still lingering.
The weather's calmed down a bit now - but it looks like there's more snow on it's way ready for Tom's arrival!
