After exploring a bit of the town we got the subway up to Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs take on the Milwaukee Brewers...
Wrigley Field is so different to the Yankee's and Met's Stadiums here - it feels a lot older and more traditional compared to those two relatively newly built mega stadiums.
There aren't any fancy computer screens, or animation videos for each player, there aren't 100's of vendor stores on each level and there aren't as many seats... and because of all of that it feels far more friendly and relaxed and homely.

They still have the original signs on the outside of the stadium, and the original scoreboards inside the stadium (although they've got a couple of small digital scoreboards too.
The seating was really different too - on one side of the stadium all the seats are set back in a shallow bank, then on the other side most of the seats aren't actually in the stadium, they're on top of the surrounding buildings!

We had some great seats in front of all the action (well, they were great apart from a pillar that was blocking a bit of the view - but that didn't matter)...
We sat and enjoyed the game with some hotdogs and beers - I think we blended in pretty well...
It was an exciting game too - for the first couple of innings the Cubs were up 3-0, then the Brewers got 4 points in one innings taking the lead. When we left the Brewers were trouncing the Cubs 7-3... later than night we checked the scores and it looked like the rest of the game was a nail biter – they Brewers went up to 9, then the Cubs game back to draw, then the Brewers went ahead to 11, the Cubs drew again and then on the last ball of the last innings the Cubs hit a home run and won 12-11!
It was a great way to spend an afternoon in Chicago!
