Sitting in the middle of the park is Anish Kapoor's truly awesome Bean sculpture...
As you approach it, you can just see the warped reflections of the skyscrapers peeping through the trees, but then when you get into the main square - you can see the bean in all it's glory...
It is absolutely beautiful.
The curved mirrored exterior to the bean creates amazing reflections - like a funny mirror at the fairground or something, everything bends and contorts into unusual shapes and proportions as you walk passed...
You can interact with the bean, you can walk up to it and touch it, you can even walk underneath it and see the amazing reflections caused by all the curves coming together...
It was so fun to see how everyone was reacting to and interacting with the sculpture - from babies to old folks (even older than Pops!) enjoying seeing their bendy reflections and all the amazing effects the surface of the bean made.
The mix of the organic shape of a bean and the futuristic material was incredible - it was like something out of Flight of the Navigator or something... it looked like E.T. should be coming out of the sculpture at night.
It was really beautiful and even more awesome in real life. I absolutely loved it!
