Downtown Brooklyn...

Friday was another scorcher, so walking around was so going, but we managed to brave the heat and head to downtown Brooklyn for some brunch at Juniors. It was supposed to be breakfast, but I think we were a wee bit late for the free pastries...

We had a hearty brunch all the same - pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausages!

Then we went for a walk around Downtown Brooklyn - we walked round DeKalb Market and resisted temptation to buy lots of old Star Wars toys, and we enjoyed the air conditioning in Macy's.

Downtown Brooklyn's a bit of a funny area, there are some brand new buildings and shops going up, like Shake Shack, and then there are some really run down empty looking shop units too...

It makes it even more of an interesting area to mooch around.

When we were heading back to the subway we noticed that 200 Livingston (where that Icy Signs stuff from a couple of weeks ago is), had taken down some of the signs covering the windows. You could see right in at what looked like Steve Power's studio, there were paint brushes, and half completed pieces laying around - and loads and loads of hand painted signs leaning up against the wall...

I still want to know what's happening with that space - and whether any of the pieces are for sale...

I'll keep researching and keep you posted!
