On a very dark and wet Friday evening, Abi and I went for a little after work drink (and little smackeral) at the Brooklyn Winery...
I had seen the Winery sign from Bedford Avenue a few times and always just assumed it was a wine shop, but we looked it up on Friday and found that it's a restaurant/bar serving their own home made wines and lots of delicious food...
It was lovely and dark and warm and cosy, and pretty quiet when we arrived, it was the perfect place to be when it was all wet and horrible outside...
We had ourselves half a carafe (which came in a science measuring beaker) of some Brooklyn red and some calamari and shrimp... it was all delicious!
Red wine and fish must be good for the creative juices because by the time we left the winery we had come up with and designed a new range of wines - it's all top secret at the moment, but I think this time next year, we could be millionaires!
Apparently the Brooklyn Winery do screenings of the Walking Dead on Sundays, so if I get bored of watching it on my own, I could go along and have some red wine while watching zombies eating people... could be good.
Hopefully we'll go back to the winery over the winter, and I bet it's great during the summer too - it's definitely worth going to, it's nice and relaxed and not snooty at all (considering it's a wine place). We loved it!
